A license is required to use or permit the use of a vehicle for the storage or carrying of food products for sale at retail upon the streets of the Village of Lake in the Hills. An application must be submitted to the attention of the Deputy Clerk at the address below.

The Village Administrator will issue the license upon determination that the applicant meets the standards set forth in Chapter 35.13. The license expires annually on December 31. The fees are $100.00 for each owner, plus $50.00 for each food product vehicle operated.

Food/Ice Cream Vendor applicants and their Drivers are reviewed by the Police Department. The application review includes a Background Check, which costs $50.00 per individual and may take from four to six weeks.

No more than six (6) food vendor business licenses will be issued in the Village, each with no more than two (2) vehicles. Of the six, three (3) shall be issued to businesses that solely sell ice cream products.
