The Woods Creek Reach 12 Restoration Project (“Reach 12”) has been completed.

This project was the next step in an extensive restoration of the streambanks leading to Woods Creek Lake.  Approximately 1,000 linear feet of streambank were stabilized and six acres of wetland adjacent to the creek were seeded and restored to native conditions. The restoration improved water quality by reducing silt and sediment buildup and establishing green infrastructure.

Reach 12 is located between Clark Avenue and Village Creek Drive. The Village previously completed streambank improvements in adjacent areas referred to as Reach 10 and 11.

The general scope of work required consisted of:

  • Streambank restoration and stabilization
  • Tree removal
  • The removal of non-native vegetation
  • Seeding of native vegetation
