The Lake in the Hills Airport is a GA-friendly airport and an ideal base of operations for aircraft owners in and around McHenry County. We are conveniently located to a variety of destinations in the Chicagoland area. The airport features RNAV GPS and VOR approaches and offers precision path indicators (PAPIs) for both runway 26 and 8. A courtesy car is offered on a first come, first served basis during business hours. Fuel prices are among the lowest in Northern Illinois.

Pilot Lounge
Open during regular business hours. Free WiFi and coffee plus soda vending machine available.
Transient Parking
- $10 - Ramp or hard tiedown
- $5 - Grass tiedown (seasonal)
- Overnight hangar space available with prior permission at $30/night. (No current availability)
- Large aircraft will be assessed a $50 ramp fee
The first night's tiedown fee of $10 or $5 respectively is waived with purchase of at least 15 gallons of full service fuel.
Full service 100LL and Jet A fuel is available from the Village seven days a week with hours varying from winter to summer. Self-service 100LL and Jet A fuel is also available 24 hours a day. The pumps are located midfield adjacent to the parallel taxiway.
