Parks Master Plan Updates
Earlier this year, the Village began creating a new Parks Master Plan to establish clear priorities for the next five years and beyond while ensuring our parks reflect our vibrant community's evolving needs and aspirations.
Guided by Hitchcock Design Group (HDG), our planning team has been hard at work, leading us through the Connect Phase, a pivotal stage centered on community engagement. We're thrilled to report that your voices have been heard loud and clear. Through a combination of methods, including an online survey, an in-person community meeting, and insightful stakeholder group interviews, we've garnered invaluable feedback from residents. With over 500 responses to the online survey alone, we're deeply grateful for your active participation and thoughtful input.
As we approach the next phase, HDG will collaborate closely with the Village to distill the wealth of insights gathered into a comprehensive list of preliminary needs. Building upon these findings, we will work together to develop strategic initiatives tailored to enhance our parks' offerings and experiences. These strategies will be forecasted throughout the 5-year master plan, ensuring a structured approach to addressing our community's priorities in a timely manner.
Looking ahead, the culmination of our efforts will be the compilation of this wealth of information into a comprehensive booklet. This invaluable resource will serve as the blueprint for our Parks and Recreation Department, guiding decision-making and investment priorities for years to come. Ultimately, this document will be presented to the Village Board for adoption later this year, cementing its role as a vital planning tool to shape the future of our beloved recreational spaces.
As we move forward, your continued engagement and support remain essential. Together, we're laying the groundwork for a brighter, more inclusive future for recreation in our Village. Stay tuned to this page for further updates.
