Barbara Key ParkLake in the Hills is home to 34 parks. The smallest is Kennedy Triangle at .13 of an acre and the largest is Sunset Park Sports Complex at 125 acres. Our largest natural resource is the 240-acre Fen at Barbara Key Park. Our parks also include over 5 miles of off-street bike paths.

Parks are maintained by the Public Properties Division of the Public Works Department. Scott Parchutz is the Superintendent of Public Properties and is the main contact for this division. Please visit the Public Works Department page for information.

Protected by Thor Guard

Whether you play, recreate or spectate, your safety should always come first!

Sunset Park Sports Complex, Leroy Guy Park, Ryder Park, Plote Field, and Indian Trail Beach are all equipped with Thor Guard Lightning Detection Systems. When conditions are favorable for lightning, a 15-second blast will sound, and an amber warning light will shine, indicating that the warning is in effect. If you are in one of our parks when the amber light is shining, leave the playing field or park and take shelter immediately. Activities may resume when the all-alert signal (3 blasts no longer than 5 seconds) sounds.
