Master Plans
The Parks Master Plan is an all-inclusive document that encompasses the 34 varied parks within the Village. The document categorizes the parks based on size and the amenities within each park. Developed in 2005, the document includes a resident survey which spells out amenities and projects for the future. The plan has been updated to include the newly added parks that have been created and those open spaces that may have a new name or amenity. The plan is used as a guide during the budget period in order to identify areas that need improvement, additions, and potentially deletions to the parks. The plan is an evolving document that is updated every two or three years.
The Recreation Master Plan was developed in 2006. This document was created to look at the past and current program opportunities and competitive programs, as well as complimentary businesses/organizations. By looking beyond the boundaries of the community, the document allows the Village to forecast potential areas of improvement. In the beginning of 2024, the Village began working on a new Parks Master Plan to establish clear priorities for the next five years and beyond while ensuring our parks reflect our vibrant community's evolving needs and aspirations.
