Sunset Skate Park is now open!
Early in 2021, Public Works staff conducted three resident surveys to gauge interest in various equipment features, share potential design concepts, and foster conversation about the skate park equipment replacement project.
“Our team is grateful for the feedback residents have provided in recent surveys,” said Public Works Director Tom Migatz. “We look forward to the added value the new equipment will bring to the Village as the new designs will offer a fresh look and improved facilities for recreation.”
The final design concept was selected after weighing the community’s input and holding discussions during Parks and Recreation Board and Board of Trustees meetings. The collaborative process between residents, staff, elected officials, and vendors offers space for many voices to weigh in and help shape the landscape of Village parks for the future.
The new equipment repalced outdated equipment that had reached the end of its twenty-year lifespan based on the industry standard and the assessed physical condition.
