Our Recreation team has been working hard to bring the community a huge variety of virtual programs, take-home activity boxes, and socially distanced in-person activities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. See their creativity at work as you browse the exciting collection of new events to enjoy with your family in the new year!
Take a socially distant StoryWalk® in February and March and enjoy pop-up experiences of The Mitten by Jan Brett and Cat’s Colors by Airlie Anderson. Winter sports fans, enjoy a 4-on-4 Pond Hockey Tournament and an ice fishing tournament to ring in early 2021. Don’t forget your pup! Dog owners can bring their furry friends to the Sweet Barks Social at the Bark Park in February. Our special events are sure to bring smiles in the snowy season!
Parents of preschoolers can help their children socialize and enjoy structure within their day through our remote Preschool Academy session. The program features live instruction time for students to interact with their teacher and classmates.
For parents seeking socially distant childcare, we offer the Back-2-School Remote Learning Camp and several No School Day opportunities for students to complete their school work and enjoy fun recreational activities throughout the day. Campers can interact with others and enjoy socialization time while following safety guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The brochure also features the Police Department’s 2021 special events and activities, including a variety of safety programs for all ages. The department will offer exciting and educational opportunities like the Law Enforcement Explorers, Safety Camp with LITH PD and ALFPD, police station tours, and more. The Police Department's community outreach opportunities are free and open to all.
Registration opens for residents on November 20 and for non-residents on November 27. We follow CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
