ComEd will be performing tree trimming and vegetation management in Lake in the Hills throughout October, November, and December to ensure reliability and help prevent outages. Affected customers and property owners have been notified by ComEd about maintenance that will be performed on private property.
Please note, trees near electrical wires must sometimes be significantly trimmed or removed. Trees that grow higher than 20 feet, like elm, maple, and blue spruce, should never be planted under or near distribution power lines. These trees can cause outages and safety issues at full height. Instead, choose trees and bushes that grow to a full height of less than 20 feet, like dogwoods or crabapples, when planting near distribution power lines.
