Grab your bike, your skateboard or your scooter and come on out to the Sunset Park Skate Park, 9200 Haligus Rd. on Saturday, June 3rd, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and join the LITHPD Tactical Bike Unit and the Parks and Recreation Department for an afternoon of all things wheels for all ages. During this event, participants will bike and skate together while also learning about bicycle safety, equipment and rules of the road. Want to train just like police officers? Cone courses will be provided for maneuverability work. Lucky Brake will be out helping with bike questions and safety topics. There will also be bike repair and safety tips, bike registration and free child ID services for the kids.
There will also be many activities provided by the Rec2U crew like car race tracks, DIY race car kits, preschool trike races, the ever-popular blender bike, "Skate Jam" - a bike, scooter, skateboard competition (pre-registration and Parks and Recs fee required - visit

Bring an senior out for a pleasant ride, provided by Cycling Without Age McHenry County, conducted by trained volunteers on their comfortable, open-air trishaw. All rides are free. Pre-registration is strongly suggested. Each ride can accommodate one or two 55+ passengers. Registration for available rides and time slots can be found
